AAT AND FIA INTERNATIONAL PREPARE TO DISTRIBUTE 850 HELMET TO MOTORCYCLE DRIVERS
It has been reported that wearing a helmet for motorcycle riders significantly reduces the damage or damage to the head that can be caused by road, head and brain accidents. In the human body are the weakest areas affected by a motorcycle accident.
This has been revealed by the Assistant Commissioner of Police Mkadam Mkadam Khamis, while launching a training course for Motorcycle Drivers, organized by Auto mobile Association and FIA International,he said the motorcyclist and his passengers wearing helmets have a chance to survive in occurance of an accident.
He said that, according to health experts, wearing a helmet helps to protect the eyes, teeth and face and can also protect him from objects that can fly on the road such as dust, pieces of wood, insects, garbage and others that may come across.
However, Commissioner Mkadam, has used the opportunity to urge young people to realize that the role of driver should be done with due diligence and obedience to the law and road signs.
"Important things to consider for you ,drivers, not to use alcohol, to respect pedestrian crossings, to focus on speed, not overweight with passengers and cut off Insurance, to focus on traffic lights, not to overtake unauthorized areas"said Commissioner Mkadam
For his part, the President of the Automobile Association of Tanzania Nizar Jivan has urged motorcyclists to focus on safety before all things and to seize the opportunity to get an helmet so that they can save their lives and passengers.
"We will be distributing 850 certified Helmets with international quality, to see that you care you will deliver what you have and we will provide you with the best new ones."
The AAT CEO Mr Yusuf Ghor, said the opening of the training would be followed by a special event to distribute helmets to 850 drivers in Dar es Salaam which is expected to take place at the end of November 2020.
The event will be held in collaboration with the Auto Mobile Association and FIA and the Association of Drivers and Motorcycle Owners, Dar es Salaam Governor's Office, and have already registered the relevant drivers for the Helmet Distribution Event.
