600 drivers benefit from defensive driving training organized by AAT and its allies.

The  Automobile  Association of Tanzania (AAT) in collaboration with  Fideration International de Auto mobile grant programme  (FIA)  and Michelin International  have organized  special Defencive  driving  training for more than 600 drivers.

Speeking in the  launching ceremony   the project  manager who is also  CEO of  AAT Mr  Yusuf ghor ,  says the training willbe  based in Dar es salaam   and will incrude  who are driving  Tracks , Buses  passengers school buses  and Ambulences responsibility.

The purpose of the training is to reduce road accidents ,fatality and the drivers to understand  new and updated  road signs law.

The training  willbe covering approx 30 Companies  this important training will last for 3 month  and is free of charge.

On the  side of AAT presidend  Nizar Jivani  says this training willgo  a long way  in implementing the UN Resolution of reduce fatality and FIA,s main goals are to reduce accedents and fatalities.

For his part, Dar es Salaam Regional Sports and Culture Officer Adolph  Halli , thanked AAT and its partners for conducting the training and said that the government will be with them shoulder to shoulder to ensure the education they provide is beneficial to the community.
 "There has been an increase in accidents. This training has come at the right time. Most drivers do not know that defensive driving will help them a lot and we will reduce accidents," he said.

SP Deus Sokoni, the traffic police headquarters superintendent, said in line with international targets each country should reduce accidents by 50% by the end of this year 2020.

 He said over the past year Tanzania had managed to reduce accidents by 24% to reduce injuries by 23% to reduce deaths by 19% these goals would not have been achieved if there had not been such a partnership.

" I also thank AAT for conducting training for about 2560 primary school teachers, which in turn has helped those teachers to go and teach students who.  they are the biggest victims of the accident and I also thank the ministry of education for setting the curriculum well and incorporating the subject of road safety in the subject of citizenship" Said SP Sokon.
